Visit to "ons huis"

Had an awesome day today.... and also visited "Ons huis" to spend some time with all my wonderful friends. I played games with them, and it is so awesome to see there faces lighten up when they have so much fun. These young adults enjoy and appreciate the smallest things that come their way.

MORE ABOUT ONS HUIS:

ONS HUIS is a project established by the Charity Commission of the Elarduspark Dutch Reformed Church’s Presbytery. It was born out of the faith and determination of a group of parents who kept on believing that, with its acceptance and support, their mentally handicapped children would be able to live and work as normally as possible within the community. This is also what they communicated to the presbytery. The project enjoys the support of the Dutch Reformed Church congregations of Elarduspark, Moreleta Park and Oosterlig (Pretoria).
They get no government assistance and depend on contributions from the parents and community. They have applied for registration as a non-profit organisation.

ONS HUIS VISION

They offer a permanent, full-time, protective home and activity centre to mentally handicapped adults, within a supportive environment, where they can enjoy adequate physical care and grow spiritually and emotionally so that they are able to make a contribution – no matter how small – to the community.

My support towards charity

The past 6 years I have been involved in various charity organizations. This has always been a life changing experience to be involved with these charity organizations. These are just some thank you letters from the charity groups that I’ve been involved with. It's always nice to go visit them (kids and young adults) once in a while, it make me think about all the things in my life that I take for granted and should appreciate more. Life is a precious gift from God and so are they.

Judging at Mr and Miss Gerrie Maritz

Was one of the judges for Mr and Miss Gerrie @ Gerrit Maritz Highschool! Had a great evening and met wonderful people, like the other judges and people from the school. Congratulations to the Mr and Miss Gerrie 2009, you guys were my favorite, well done! The event was well organised and i have learned a lot from these young people - very matured for their age! Will go judge there anytime.

Visit to "ons huis"

Spend the morning at Hoerskool Waterkloof with the young adults from "Ons huis". It was Spring day and also Hoerskool Waterkloof's birthday!! Elsie from Ons Huis made us take off our T-shirts in front of the whole school....was fun though! (lol)

Louis Nel (one of the ons huis children) made us some nice coffee when we got back at the house. Back at the house we took some photos, which they loved, was difficult to put the camera down, as they just kept on wanting to take more and more photos!! They even pulled out their own cameras...had much laughter! Just glad they enjoyed it so much.

Girls night out - fundraising event (Ons huis trust)

Me (Morne van Zyl) and Fashion TV Parkview will host a Ladies night out party on Thursday 17 September. FTV has proven with various past events that Fashion TV Ladies Nights are the place to be.
Firmly established as the major social events for ladies, it's also one of those nights when dressing up is the thing to do.

Only ladies will be allowed inside the venue, guys can relax at the outside section up until 10pm, where we will open the doors and all will be free to mingle and meet as they please.

What we offer the ladies:
Each lady is spoiled with a special gift on the night.
We have our Celebrity male entertainment :

· The guys from “Binnelanders – Ramey and Reinhardt, and 7de Laan’s Hendrik” will be hosting the night and making sure the ladies have fun in a stylish lady like manor.

· Special surprise on the night is the HANDSOME Jaco De Bruyn – Heat Hottest Torso winner 2009 will be attending and entertaining the girls

· Mr SA Semi Finalist Morne van Zyl , hosting the event for "Ons Huis Trust".

Charity cause:
All ladies attending have to give R20 donation to “Ons Huis Trust” home. This R20 fee will entitle her for big prize give aways on the night.
A cheque with the amount collected on the night will be handed over to a Ons Huis Trust Representative on the night. ( Media will also be present)

Cocktail Special – R30 for 2 Cocktails all night till 10pm.

Anyone with a bill of R100 or more will stand a chance of driving away with a BMW Z4 for a whole entire weekend, compliments of Leo Haese Centurion.

Mr. South Africa Semi Finalist 2010

I am proud to say that i got the oppertunity to represent this beautiful country we live in and make a huge diffirence in peoples lives that needs it the most. God put me on this road and this is the road i will follow. I am a 30 year old guy that likes spending time with people and always leaving them with a thoughful though. i am blessed to have a wonderful family that truly supports me in everthing i do. i have the most beautful girl in my life so by saying all this i just want you all to know how lucky i am and fortunate. Please this is a once in a life time oppertunity for me and and i need all the support at the end of the day because this is a competition and the best man will win in the end. i will keep you all posted through my group and blog with all the events that will happen and any news from the Mr.Sa team 2010.
