Visit to "ons huis"

Had an awesome day today.... and also visited "Ons huis" to spend some time with all my wonderful friends. I played games with them, and it is so awesome to see there faces lighten up when they have so much fun. These young adults enjoy and appreciate the smallest things that come their way.

MORE ABOUT ONS HUIS:

ONS HUIS is a project established by the Charity Commission of the Elarduspark Dutch Reformed Church’s Presbytery. It was born out of the faith and determination of a group of parents who kept on believing that, with its acceptance and support, their mentally handicapped children would be able to live and work as normally as possible within the community. This is also what they communicated to the presbytery. The project enjoys the support of the Dutch Reformed Church congregations of Elarduspark, Moreleta Park and Oosterlig (Pretoria).
They get no government assistance and depend on contributions from the parents and community. They have applied for registration as a non-profit organisation.

ONS HUIS VISION

They offer a permanent, full-time, protective home and activity centre to mentally handicapped adults, within a supportive environment, where they can enjoy adequate physical care and grow spiritually and emotionally so that they are able to make a contribution – no matter how small – to the community.

My support towards charity

The past 6 years I have been involved in various charity organizations. This has always been a life changing experience to be involved with these charity organizations. These are just some thank you letters from the charity groups that I’ve been involved with. It's always nice to go visit them (kids and young adults) once in a while, it make me think about all the things in my life that I take for granted and should appreciate more. Life is a precious gift from God and so are they.
